These shoes are part of the Adicolor series (Blue 4) - the Tron edition.Tron was a groundbreaking film released in 1982. Made by Disney, it was one of the first films to incorporate computer generated grahpics, and featured 'Lightcylces' racing around circuit board styled tracks. The Stan Smith Comforts incorporate many of the memorable icons related to the film - including the main character, the logo, lightcycles and electric grid.

Tron is a 1982 Disney science fiction film starring Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn (and his counterpart inside the electronic world, Clu), Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley (and Tron), Cindy Morgan as Lora Baines (and Yori) and Dan Shor as Ram. David Warner plays the villain, Ed Dillinger (and Sark), as well as providing the voice of the 'Master Control Program'. It was written and directed by Steven Lisberger. Being one of the first films from a major studio to use computer graphics extensively, Tron has a distinctive visual style.

In 1998, adidas created an update of the classic Stan Smith tennis sneaker for today's more aggressive style of play. The "Stan Smith Millenium" has a updated outsole and upper, while maintaining many of the same design features. For example, the design kept the original rows of perforations. One significant difference that I noted between the classic Stan Smith and the Stan Smith Millenium is that the Millenium seems considerably wider. If the Stan Smith fits well, the Millenium will be too loose. Of course, the opposite applies. In 1998, adidas also created a "Millenium" updated version of the classic Superstar and Promodel basketball shoes.
